We remain committed to helping you build your family and continue to do that now despite the concerns raised by this crisis. We remain a dedicated partner on your family building journey. Our team is diligently monitoring the continuing spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our region. As always, we are following the CDC’s guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff. To keep you informed, please read the following information.

We understand how stressful this difficult time is to our fertility patients. We want you to know that we are your partner along the journey to parenthood and are committed to your well-being and safety.

We're Taking Additional Precautions To Maintain A Safe Environment 

  • All consultations will be via our telemedicine platform FertilityConnnect™,
  • The temperatures of both staff and patients are taken daily
  • All staff and patients are required to wear a face covering
  • Patients are asked to come alone to appointments
  • We are thoroughly sanitizing all common surfaces in between each patient visit 

Important Office Updates

As of June 1, our Sewell office has resumed in person visits. Our Marlton location has extended office hours to accommodate your schedule, with in person appointments from 7 AM - 5 PM and virtual visits available until 8 PM Monday-Friday. Saturday appointments are offered in person from 7 AM - 11 AM and virtually until 6 PM.

When To Re-Schedule Your In Person Appointment

To maintain the health of our patients and staff, please cancel or re-schedule your appointment if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • Fever (within 24 hours of visit)
  • Upper respiratory infection or active cough
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Under self-quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19
  • You are experiencing sudden loss of smell/taste or chills

Q: Is South Jersey Fertility open?
A: Yes. Our Marlton office remains open to serve you. Our dedicating support staff including nurses and financial counselors are also available to answer any questions you may have. As always, our physicians are available on-call for any urgent matters outside of regular business hours.

Q: What can I do during the pandemic to begin my family building journey? 
A: Telemedicine consultations are available to new patients, current patients who want to discuss their testing results, next steps or further details of treatment. Our financial counselors are able to verify benefits, provide cost estimates and obtain necessary authorizations. We are also offering at-home fertility treatments, to continue your fertility care without frequent in-office appointments.

Q: Does delaying fertility treatment have an impact on success?
A: Delaying fertility treatment for a month or two is not thought to have any impact on your success. In fact it may afford you an opportunity to improve your chance of success by focusing on a healthy diet, exercise, stress reduction, smoking cessation and initiation of certain vitamins or medications that our providers can recommend.

Q: Should I avoid getting pregnant during this time?
A: You DO NOT have to stop trying to conceive during this time. Since this is a new version of the coronavirus, the risks to the mother and pregnancy are not completely known, and won’t be for some time. The initial data is reassuring and the American College of OBGYN is not advising that patients delay pregnancy during the epidemic. We do know that any severe illness can lead to complications for a pregnancy and other viruses such as influenza can cause more significant respiratory symptoms in pregnant women. Therefore, if you are pregnant you should take all of the precautions you can to avoid infection. If you currently have COVID-19, have symptoms consistent with infection or are in the quarantine period after exposure to COVID-19, you should temporarily delay trying to conceive.

Q: Are there treatment options to help fertility patients conceive without visiting the office?
A: After consulting with one of our providers and thoroughly understanding the risks and benefits, you may be able to do fertility treatments from the comfort of your home. Please set up a consultation to learn more.

Q: Are my frozen embryos/eggs safe?
A: There is no immediate threat to the safety of your frozen eggs, sperm or embryos if you have them stored at our facility. We have rigorous procedures in place to maintain the liquid nitrogen tanks that house these vital reproductive specimens.

Q: What resources are available to me during this time?
A: We know that this time of uncertainty is very stressful and there are resources available to you to help you. You can schedule an on-line session with the Center for Mindful Health and Acupuncture who has worked collaboratively with SJF for many years. Also Resolve, a national fertility association has many resources to help.
